Supplier Code of Conduct Policy

Abbey Forged Products Ltd and their supply chain, provide quality open die forgings to engineering companies and industrial users worldwide. We are fully aware of the responsibility we have towards our customers, employees and the communities in which we work. To meet this responsibility, we are guided by the ethical values we have set and that are entrenched in all our business activities.

Abbey requires all their suppliers to sign up and adhere to the same values and standards we have set ourselves, following this Supplier Code of Conduct, in order to do business with us.

Laws and Ethical Standards. AFP and their suppliers will comply with all laws and statutory requirements applicable to its business, products and behaviours.

Child Labour. AFP and suppliers employ no children under the age of 16, in order to avoid any reduction in their compulsory education, and to ensure they suffer no harm to their health and development.

Forced Labour and Human Trafficking. AFP and its suppliers will never make use of forced or compulsory labour.

Compensation and Working Hours. AFP and their suppliers will comply with their respective national laws and regulations regarding working hours, wages and benefits.

Discrimination. AFP and their suppliers do not discriminate in respect of race, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation or gender.

Diversity and Inclusion. AFP and their suppliers will not tolerate bullying or harassment of any kind, and will treat each person with due respect, courtesy and openness.

Health and Safety. AFP and their suppliers will strive to implement and maintain a high standard of occupational health, and the best possible level of safety – maximising employee health and minimising any possibility of accident and injury or work related illness.

Quality and Continuous Improvement. AFP operates an accredited quality system and is committed to the continuous improvement of the system and processes within the organisation.

Business Continuity Planning. AFP are prepared as far as is possible for any disruption to its business (e.g., natural disasters, terrorism, software viruses, illness, pandemic etc.)  This disaster planning is to protect employees and the environment from the effects of anything arising in our organisation or one of our supplier’s, to the greatest degree.

Improper Payments/Bribery. AFP obliges its employees and suppliers to comply with international anti bribery standards, as stated in the Bribery Act 2010.  Particularly, the supplier may not offer gifts, services or benefits to any AFP employees in order to influence the employee’s conduct.  AFP and its employees will never offer such inducements.

Proprietary Information. AFP and its employees understand and are committed to treating such information with integrity and absolute confidentiality.

Export controls and Import Obligations. AFP confirm our adherence to all statutory export laws and requirements, and all import legislation and regulation, and require our suppliers to do the same.

Counterfeit Materials. AFP are well aware of the increasing risk of counterfeit products, and fraudulent, suspect items which they may be exposed to, and the risk therefore to and from our supply chain. In order to confront this danger, we have a robust Quality Management System to detect and prevent such occurrences and have implemented processes to identify and prevent non-conformances. AFP, through a number of procedures in our QMS, have mitigated any risk in respect to CFSI to our customers. Our suppliers are required to assure us they also have appropriate systems in place.

Conflict Materials. AFP will not knowingly support in any way the financing of armed groups or human rights abuses through trading specific minerals, or any other trade as per the objective of section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform. We do not purchase from conflict affected, high risk areas, and require our suppliers to maintain this stance and comply accordingly.

Competitive Behaviour and Anti- Trust. AFP operate in an open competitive market and would not attempt to conspire to join forces in order to control prices either up or down.

Conflict of Interest. Should a conflict of interest arise in our organisation in whatever regard, customer, supplier, or other, – we would investigate and discuss the situation and arrive at an amenable conclusion to both parties.

Environment. AFP maintain a robust attitude towards our impact on the environment and strive to excel in this area, above and beyond legal requirements. We work to eliminate any potential hazards, or negative impact on the community, including climate change. We also look to our suppliers to share our enthusiasm in this respect.

Security. AFP recognises the escalation of risk in this area, and undertake stringent measures to protect the Company, our customers and suppliers. Our employees are made fully aware of the role they must play in safeguarding the situation, in terms of information loss, financial loss, reputation and all other aspects encompassed by the term. We work diligently to maintain protection for all parties in this respect and require our suppliers to the same.

Regarding compliance with the Supplier Code of Conduct, Abbey Forged Products reserves the right, upon reasonable notice, to check compliance with the requirements of this document.
