Vacancy – Site Labourer
Abbey Forged Products is the UK’s leading forge master in the oil & gas industry, and have recently acquired accreditations for the Nuclear and Aerospace industries. With 40 years’ experience in forging, Abbey are specialists in creating bespoke products using open die methods.
We currently have an opportunity for a general Site Labourer. This is a varied post responsible for keeping the site clean and tidy, assisting in various Labouring duties, and Security cover.
The main responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: –
- Disposing of waste according to set policies and procedures and generally maintaining a tidy and organised site.
- Cleaning of works amenity areas, shower blocks etc.
- Gardening around site
- Basic maintenance duties
- General labouring duties
- Carrying out collections and deliveries as required
- Utilisation of plant and lifting equipment
- Loading and unloading of vehicles
- Operate basic power tools as required
- Assistance in Security
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and personal attributes: –
- Strong work ethic and good standard of cleanliness
- Able to drive a selection of forklift trucks in a busy factory environment, or willing to train.
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work methodically with attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
- Flexible in approach to work
- Able to work within the constraints of our Quality and Health & Safety systems.
This is a permanent role working Monday to Friday, either 9am to 5pm, or 10am to 6pm.
